SEACOM financed and constructed three buildings within South Africa, Mozambique, Tanzania, and Kenya to serve as landing stations:

Building 1 will receive the submarine cable and interconnect to the backhaul to metropolitan PoPs

Building 2 is the ancillary station containing power back up, air conditioning and other essential plant

Building 3 is the co-location area to ensure direct open access to the submarine fibre optic network

The landing stations will be operated in compliance with local regulations and on an Open Access basis:

The Open Access co-location area will be treated as an essential facility i.e. an infrastructure asset of strategic national importance

Operating costs of the co-location building such as electricity, air-conditioning, and etc... will be used to determine co-location fees, ensuring that co-location and interconnection fees will be affordable

SEACOM's agreement with the national landing party ensures that all carriers have full open and equal access to the submarine fibre cable via building number three

SEACOM will deliver a FULL package to the customer to ensure that the price of bandwidth includes the full costs of getting from Africa to Asia or Europe
